The Team Building Program is an opportunity for your company to take a day out of the office to work together as a team. The group will benefit from an informal team building experience, doing something they probably have never done before - build a home! The group will have to communicate, cooperate, and get a job done. Leaders will emerge and lines of hierarchy will be broken down. You can work exclusively with your group or invite clients or colleagues to join you. What better way to forge a bond with coworkers and clients than to spend a day hammering and working toward a common goal? The group members will appreciate that through this Team Building Program they are not just having fun and learning, but also providing funds to build homes for families in need.
Giving Back to the Community
The Team Building program gives Habitat and your company an opportunity to partner in a truly significant and meaningful way. It is with the support of our corporate community that we are able to continue to build houses in this high-cost area. To schedule a Team Building day, companies provide a minimum financial donation of $2,500 and send a team of up to 25 volunteers to our construction site to swing hammers. (Companies may recruit additional volunteers for an additional donation of $100 per volunteer.) By contributing this tax-deductible donation, your company helps share with us the cost of building materials, enabling us to continue to build and serve families. Companies are encouraged to give more if they are able, and we thank you for keeping Habitat in mind while pursuing your charitable giving goals.
No previous construction skills necessary! Habitat for Humanity East Bay will provide skilled construction staff to train the volunteers and supervise construction. All tools, safety equipment and building materials needed for the day will be provided.
