Car Donations

Do you have an older car, truck, van, trailer, RV or boat taking up valuable space in your yard?

Your car donation will support Habitat for Humanity East Bay’s local efforts to eliminate poverty housing across the Bay Area in places like Oakland, Bay Point, Alameda, Berkeley - all across Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.  By donating a car to our vehicle donation program, you can help Habitat for Humanity build houses in partnership with families in need of a hand up, not a hand out.

It is quick and easy to donate automobiles, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles, construction equipment and other vehicles ~ running or not! Plus, you may be eligible for a tax deduction. (Consult your tax advisor or the IRS for details.)

Partnership Project

Today, Habitat East Bay is the most successful Habitat for Humanity affiliate in turning car donations into affordable homeownership opportunities.

Back in 2009/10 Habitat for Humanity International selected Habitat East Bay as a result of the great success the affiliate was having in building and rehabilitating homes in Alameda and Contra Costa County. Habitat for Humanity International awarded the East Bay affiliate a challenge grant from October 2009 through June 2010 that matched car donations dollar for dollar.

During the campaign, car donors had a chance to not only double their donation, but put their money to work during a special Cars for Homes work day at the Edes Avenue construction site, where Habitat East Bay's 250th home was being constructed.
